BLAINE, Wash. — First responders were dispatched to the 5100 block of Anderson Road in Blaine about 5:25pm, Thursday, May 19th, due to a report of a fully involved residential structure fire.

North Whatcom Fire & Rescue Division Chief Shaun Ward told Whatcom News they arrived to find the residence fully involved and the 4 occupants, an adult and 3 children, had all gotten out without injury.
Ward said there was not much the firefighters could do but control the fire to minimize damage to adjacent structures.
The occupants reported they did not hear anything unusual but saw smoke and immediately got out of the house according to Ward. By the time they got to the opposite side of the street, the structure was fully involved.

The cause of the fire was not immediately evident, and the Whatcom County Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating.
6 people total were displaced by the fire that left the structure completely destroyed. Friends of the family had already made arrangements for their care according to Ward.
As of 6:30pm, Anderson Road was closed west of Harborview Road while firefighters remained at the scene.
So 😢 I am so sorry for that family that’s got to be heart crushing to lose everything like that
