Bellingham power outage impacts over 2,700 Monday

BELLINGHAM, Wash. — Puget Sound Energy (PSE) reported an outage in the Bellingham area began shortly about 8:45pm on Monday, August 17, 2026.

According to PSE, 2,731 homes and businesses were impacted by the outage.

First responders were dispatched to the 3000 block of Eldridge Avenue about 8:45pm due to report of an electrical emergency.

As of about 9pm, the estimate for restoring power was 12am.

A nearly identical power outage occurred in the same area on June 5, 2026. The cause was then identified as a bird or animal.
