Bellingham Police are reporting an evacuation of Bellingham International Airport has been carried out today as a precaution.
People who say they are at the airport have posted to social media advising no one was being allowed in to or out of the terminal building.
According to the Bellingham Police via their Twitter account (as of 3:40pm),
1 of 2 @BellinghamPD bomb squad is arriving at Bellingham Intl Airport. Screeners got a positive swab for explosives. We are checking it.

Update. There are about 300 passengers in the post screening area. They are fine and far from the area of concern.

Bomb robot has been deployed to obtain X-rays of the suitcase. This takes time to do this safely. We will continue to update with progress.

Just verified through X-rays that the suitcase is completely empty Airport operations will be back to normal soon.
