What-Comm 911 call receivers received a report of an attempted burglary this morning after 6am in the 5700 block of 2nd Avenue according to What-Comm radio transmissions. The caller reported seeing 4 or 5 armed, masked suspects hiding in the park area and possibly 1 or more were seen running toward the Nooksack River.

According to Ferndale Police Sergeant Kevin Davis, Ferndale Police officers and Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded and established a perimeter around the area. An extensive search of the area including a K-9 track provided no sign of the suspects.

Davis said in an email, “We did not locate any evidence to substantiate the original call.”
