Air quality improvement reported

Air monitoring history from NWCAA air monitoring station on Loomis Trail in Custer station (August 4, 2017).

The Northwest Clean Air Agency air monitoring station located on Loomis Trail Road in Custer is reporting air quality in the area improved overnight just enough to achieve a MODERATE rating (see graphic).

Washington State Department of Ecology advises, when air quality is reported in the MODERATE range, people with asthma, respiratory infection, diabetes, lung or heart disease or who have had a stroke may begin to have breathing problems. These people should limit outdoor activities or do activities that take less effort, such as walking instead of running.

The National Weather Service says to expect smoke from wildfires in British Columbia to continue to cover some areas of western Washington for at least the next day or two, if not longer. Rain is not expected for at least the next 7 days.
