6 returned to Canada after being apprehended in Blaine by Customs and Border Protection agents

BLAINE, Wash. — US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Chief Patrol Agent David BeMiller said 6 people were apprehended by Blaine Sector agents on Tuesday, September 7th, after illegally entering the US.

CBP Spokesperson Jason Givens told Whatcom News a Chinese national and an East Indian national were apprehended in Peace Arch Park.

Givens said 4 other East Indian nationals were apprehended in east Blaine near H Street.

All were processed and returned to Canada due to the current activation of US Code Title 42, Section 265 regarding border crossings into the US due to the COVID-19 pandemic according to Givens.
