3.8M earthquake recorded near Astoria

The 3.8 magnitude earthquake was reported by the Pacific Northwest Seismic Network this morning about 7:52am.

The epicenter of the quake was located offshore about 10 miles west of Astoria, Oregon and about 21 miles deep.

The quake was strong enough that people within a 20-mile radius may have felt it. One person in Long Beach, WA reported feeling a jolt and another in Ilwaco, WA described it as “short and sharp.”

No damage or threat of a tsunami was reported.
