19- and 20-year-old men arrested, charged with murder

BELLINGHAM, Wash. — The Bellingham Police Department BPD press summary was recently updated with arrest information linked to a homicide on October 18, 2025, near the intersection of W Horton Road and Meridian Street.

Whatcom County Jail booking records show Royelio Manuel Marquez, age 19, and Alan Ramos, age 20, were arrested and booked into the jail by BPD this morning, November 13, 2025, each charged with suspicion of 2nd-degree murder and 2nd-degree attempted murder.

On October 20, 2025, BPD issued details about the shooting incident.

On 10-18-25, at approximately 11:50 p.m., officers responded to a shots fired call around W. Horton Rd and Meridian Street. Initial reports indicate a vehicle left the area of the call. Officers responded and did not locate a crime scene. Within minutes of the initial call, a vehicle showed up at PeaceHealth St. Joseph Medical Center Emergency Department with two injured passengers who required immediate medical attention. One of the passengers, a 26-year-old male, succumbed to his injuries at the hospital. The other, a 25-year-old male, is being treated and is expected to survive.
