BELLINGHAM, Wash. — A Ferndale man has been sentenced in both Whatcom County Superior Court and in Western Washington US District Court in Seattle after pleading guilty to numerous felony drug and firearm charges.
Daniel John Faix was sentenced in Superior Court to 90 months in prison and 12 months of community custody after pleading guilty to the following felony charges.
- unlawful possession of methamphetamine with intent to manufacture or deliver
- 3 counts of unlawful possession of a controlled substance with intent to manufacture or deliver
- 1st-degree unlawful possession of a firearm
Faix was sentenced in US District Court to 120 months in prison and 4 years of community custody after pleading guilty to the following felony charges.
- possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute
- unlawful possession of a firearm
- possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime
Faix was arrested by Bellingham Police in October of 2022 and was found with the following.
- 1,963.5 pills of suspected fentanyl
- 8 buprenorphine hydrochloride pills
- $16,807 in US currency
- a Walther handgun
At the time, Bellingham Police said that Faix had 39 prior arrests by BPD where he was suspected of theft, trespass, possession with intent to deliver, burglary and obstructing law enforcement crimes as well as arrest warrants. This arrest led to felony charges in Superior Court.
About 5 months later, Faix was arrested along with 5 others following a Whatcom County Gang and Drug Task Force investigation into their activities since November of 2022. Faix was considered part of a group trafficking fentanyl in Whatcom County. This arrest led to federal charges in US District Court.
