WHATCOM COUNTY, Wash. — About 7pm on Monday, February 24, 2026, a Washington State Patrol (WSP) trooper reported WSP dispatch by radio to being in pursuit of a motorcycle northbound on I-5 from the Main Street interchange in Ferndale. The trooper reported speeds reaching 130mph, near collisions and passing on the shoulder. The pursuit continued to the Peace Portal Drive exit in Blaine.

As the motorcycle attempted to perform a turn to get back onto southbound I 5 the rider made it apparent he did not have an endorsement by dropping the motorcycle at a low speed. A short foot pursuit ensued before the rider surrendered.
