Crews building the compact roundabout at the I-5 northbound on- and off-ramps at Portal Way will be relocating a fiber optic line that carries data from WSDOT cameras and to overhead displays with border information. As a result, cameras and message boards between Ferndale and the US-Canada border are expected to go dark while the line is being relocated.
WSDOT officials today said they expect the relocation work to begin early Tuesday, August 7th, and continue until later this week.
