Updated: Wind Advisory issued with gusts to 55mph expected

FERNDALE, Wash. — This morning, February 24th, the National Weather Service (NWS) Seattle office issued a Wind Advisory that will be in effect from 1am tomorrow to 10am tomorrow.

According to the alert, sustained south winds of 25 to 35mph with gusts to 55mph are expected in western Whatcom, Skagit and San Juan Counties.

UPDATE 3:15pm:
The advisory has been expanded to begin 10pm tonight and continue through 4pm tomorrow.

Weather forecast models expect the winds to peak about 4am.

Winds this strong can blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a power outages may result according to the advisory statement.
