Wind advisory issued for western Whatcom County

WHATCOM COUNTY, Wash. — Forecasters in the Seattle office of the National Weather Service have issued a wind advisory that will be effective from 7am on Saturday, March 9th, through 8am on Sunday.

The advisory warns of sustained southeast winds of 30 to 40mph with gusts up to 55mph.

The advisory area includes western Whatcom County, San Juan County, western Skagit County and the Admiralty Inlet area.

Winds will decrease briefly on Saturday evening before picking up again late Saturday night. The strongest winds will occur Sunday morning. National Weather Service (March 8, 2024)
