Wind advisory issued for western Whatcom County

WHATCOM COUNTY, Wash. — The Seattle office of the National Weather Service (NWS) today, January 11th, issued a wind advisory for the western Whatcom County.

The advisory warns of northeasterly sustained winds of 30 to 40mph with gusts up to 50mph expected.

The advisory period is from 4pm today to 7am on Saturday, January 13th.

Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. National Weather Service (January 11, 2024)
