Water main break repairs impact water supply, bridge traffic in Everson

EVERSON, Wash. — Officials with the City of Everson issued a statement today, Wednesday, March 19, 2025, warning residents of impacts after a water main broke late yesterday. The break was located on Everson Road (SR544) at the Nooksack River bridge.

At roughly 9:15pm on 3/18/2025, the City of Everson experienced a water main break located at the Nooksack River bridge. The water main was damaged while drilling work was taking place. The break has been completely isolated while maintaining positive pressure throughout the event. Water samples were taken and line flushing occurred at the time of isolation. Residents on the north side of the Nooksack River Bridge are being fed water from an alternate source and will likely experience some pressure loss until repairs are made. If any sign of discolored water is observed (some should be expected), a small amount of flushing through an outdoor faucet is recommended until water runs clear.

There are currently no water restrictions/advisories in place at this time.

Repair is scheduled to begin 3/20/2025 @ 9AM with single lane travel on the bridge estimated until 5PM. If lane closures are expected to extend past the estimated time, notification will be made as soon as possible.
