About 11am today, November 17th, City of Ferndale officials announced W Smith Road just west of LaBounty Drive will be closed to all traffic later today due to surface water flooding following recent heavy rains.
The road will remain closed until the flood water recedes and crews are able to ensure the roadbed remains structurally safe. No estimate was available for when that might be.
Drivers can access services and businesses behind the road closure via Hovander Road from Main Street.
