Victoria Day travelers create delays at US-Canada border crossing

US-CANADA BORDER, Wash. — Officials with the US Customs and Border Protection along with the Washington State Department of Transportation advise travelers heading north into Canada to expect long delays this afternoon, Monday, May 23rd.

Today is Victoria Day, a national Canadian holiday, and there were likely many Canadians who traveled into the US over their 3-day weekend who are now returning to Canada.

Local traffic is reportedly being impacted by the long lines extending onto sideroads and blocking some intersections and drives.
