FERNDALE, Wash. — Drivers are warned to expect lane closures on both northbound and southbound I-5 in the area between the Slater Road interchange and the W Smith Road overpass (approx. milepost 261) between 9pm on Monday, August 10th and 4am on Tuesday, August 11th.
The closures are required while workers replace traffic data collection sensors in the area.
According to a Washington State Department of Transportation official, the sensors collect “data to support traffic studies, map patterns and more.” More information on the programs served by the sensors can be found by clicking here.
