WHATCOM COUNTY, Wash. — As of 6:30am today, Thursday, February 6, 2025, many Whatcom County schools and other agencies have announced delays and closures for today due to continued sub-freezing temperatures and road conditions.
- Bellingham Schools – schools are open and running on normal schedules with snow bus routes in effect
- Bellingham Christian Schools – 2-hour late start, preschool closed, 1-hour late start for kindergarten, no kindergarten bus
- Assumption Catholic School – no announcement
- Ferndale School District – all classes and activities cancelled
- Lummi Nation School – all classes will start 2 hours late
- Blaine School District – all classes and activities cancelled
- Lynden School District – all classes will start 2 hours late
- Lynden Christian Schools – all classes will start 1 hour late
- Nooksack Valley School District – all classes on normal schedule
- Meridian School District – all classes will start 2 hours late with snow bus routes in effect
- Mount Baker School District – all classes will start 2 hours late with snow bus routes in effect
- Whatcom Intergenerational High School – all classes will start 2 hours late
- Khalsa Academy – no announcement
- Cornerstone Christian School – classes start at 10:15am
- Ebenezer Christian School – all classes will start 2 hours late
- Bellingham Technical College – classes on normal schedule
- Western Washington University – late opening at 10am
- Whatcom Community College – classes on normal schedule
- Northwest Indian College – all classes will start 2 hours late
- Lummi Health Center and Clinic – open for essential services from 10am to 3pm
- Nooksack Tribal Offices and Health Clinic – opening 2 hours late
- Whatcom County Library System – Ferndale and Lynden libraries opening late at 10am, all other WCLS branches are open regular hours, bookmobile stops at Wickersham and Lake Samish are cancelled
- Whatcom Transportation Authority – operating most routes but delays can be expected, no FLEX service on routes 71X, 72X, or 75, no Zone service
- Amtrak Cascades – trains operating between Seattle and Vancouver are currently on time
- Mount Baker Highway (SR542) – traction tires required, chains required on vehicles over 10,000 gross vehicle weight, oversize vehicles prohibited
- Ferndale Food Bank – no announcement
- Ferndale Community Services Resource Center – no announcement
- Blaine-Birch Bay Park and Recreation – all classes and activities cancelled
