FERNDALE, Wash. — For the second time in as many weeks, a candidate for a seat on the Ferndale City Council has withdrawn from their race.

Michael Cox was running against Herb Porter for position #1 on the council. According to Cox, he is planning to move and his new residence would be outside the city limits. State law requires Ferndale City Council members must reside within the Ferndale city limits. Porter now runs unopposed.

Last week Anya Milton, candidate for position #3 against Erin Gunter, announced she had withdrawn her candidacy. Milton said she had been hired as the Ferndale Chamber of Commerce Executive Director and would not be able to give the time needed for city council responsibilities if elected. Gunter now runs unopposed.
