The Ferndale Police Department has issued an advisory regarding unlicensed door-to-door solicitors, namely those selling Kirby vacuum cleaners.
The advisory refers to a recent contact police had with several solicitors working from a van in Ferndale neighborhoods. Most did not have the required City-issued Peddlers & Solicitors licenses and two were cited since they had been given prior verbal warnings.
Peddler & Solicitors licenses are issued after the applicant provides information about themselves and their company. A background check is done by the Police Department with the public’s safety in mind.
