Rollover crash reported on I-5 south of Bellingham after hailstorm

BELLINGHAM, Wash. — First responders were dispatched to I-5 south of Bellingham due to a report of a rollover crash in the area of the N Lake Samish interchange in the northbound lanes about 9:50am today, Tuesday, February 1st.

According to initial reports from the scene, the vehicle ended up on its roof on the roadway and this was a non-injury crash.

According to images from a nearby WSDOT camera, there had been a recent localized snow and/or hailstorm event in the area.

The weather system was also visible on weather radar images stretching across Sudden Valley.

Washington State Patrol troopers in the area advised road conditions in the area were slick.

Traffic slowdowns appeared to be occurring in both northbound and southbound lanes through the area.
