Roadwork starts next week that will close 2 county roads for months

Officials with Whatcom County Public Works say detours setup around 2 road closures are expected to remain in place for months.

E Hemmi Road in Everson will be closed to through traffic between Hannegan Road and Noon Road beginning July 14th. This closure will allow for reducing the risk of flooding on E Hemmi Road. The work involves raising 1,100 feet of E Hemmi Road that is prone to flooding and replacing a 5-foot diameter culvert at Tenmile Creek with a 16.75-foot span culvert.
