Road impacts felt as snow arrives to Mt Baker

GLACIER, Wash. — Heavy snow fell in the Cascades over the weekend, including the Mount Baker area. This resulted wintery driving conditions with inches of snow on the roadway east of the WSDOT maintenance operations facility according to reports.

Numerous spin-outs were reported over the weekend according to Washington State Patrol Trooper Rocky Oliphant and 1 vehicle rolled off the road sending 2 to the hospital.

As of 7:30am today, November 8th, chains were required on all vehicles, except all-wheel drive vehicles, on the Mount Baker Highway (SR542).
