Plans underway for new restaurant/brewery in Ferndale

FERNDALE, Wash. — Signs appeared in the windows of the former True Value Hardware store in Ferndale foretelling of a potential new tenant in the space.

District Brewing signs went up today in the windows at 2000 Main Street along with a colorful stack of District Brewing beer cans.

A business license for the restaurant/brewery was applied for in October for that location.

The Ferndale location would be the second for the company that is currently operating out of a Mount Vernon location.

The Mount Vernon location “offers the best local Craft, cider, and seltzer we will always have some guest taps,” according to the company website. The food menu features pizzas, wings, salads and appetizers. Beer brewed onsite are canned and sold

Owner Mark Shintaffer has been active on social media providing insights to the plans which, in addition to the beer and food, include a large game room for all ages and outdoor seating.

No estimate about when it might open has been given. No application for tenant improvements was on file yet according to the City of Ferndale online permit system.
