FERNDALE, Wash. — Permit applications have been received by the City of Ferndale regarding a proposed truck and car fueling facility on the east side of Portal Way just north of Grandview Road.

Documents submitted with the permit applications provide details for a Love’s Travel Stop & Country Store location that will include:

  • Approximately 12,000-square-foot convenience store with a yet to be named fast food restaurant
  • Truck fuel canopy with 7 diesel fuel pumps
  • Passenger vehicle fuel canopy with 8 fuel pumps
  • Approximately 8,000-square-foot 3-bay Speedco truck tire shop

The project will require a public hearing, review by the hearing examiner and city council approval since a conditional use permit (CUP) is required for this type of business at that location given current zoning in place.

Love’s company officials did not immediately respond to a request for information.

Love’s was founded in 1964 and is based in Oklahoma City, OK. There are nearly 500 Love’s Travel Stop & Country Store locations in 41 states according to the company website. Current Washington state locations include Napavine, Ellensburg, Ritzville, Spokane and Prosser.
