Plane forced to land in field after “losing an engine”

FERNDALE, Wash. — First responders were dispatched to an area north of the Bellingham International Airport about 9:15pm, Monday, May 22nd, due to a report of a small plane down in a field.

According to first responder radio transmissions at the time, the pilot, the only person on board, had reported having safely landed the Cessna plane in a field after having “lost an engine.”

Emergency response personnel arriving at the scene reported the location as south of the 900 block of Sunset Avenue and that there was no fire and no injuries.
