LYNDEN, Wash. — Traffic signals are reportedly dark as the result of a widespread power outage in the Lynden area.

Puget Sound Energy (PSE) reported 4,361 of their customers’ addresses were without power since an outage began around 11am, today, Thursday, June 23rd.
As of 11:15am, no cause for the outage had been provided and a 1:30pm estimate for restoring power was being provided.
Another localized outage was reported near the southeast corner of the Lynden Municipal Airport at 10:30am that impacted 2 PSE customer addresses. It is not known whether the 2 outages are related.
People in the area of Bender Field reported seeing what appeared to be a line cut accidentally by workers in the area.
Update: About noon, power was restored to many. A localized outage remained in neighborhoods around Bender Fields impacting 411 PSE customer addresses. No cause for the outage has been provided.

Power returned just before noon. No reason given for why the outage occurred yet.
