Bellingham, Washington – Kathleen Schirmer, 87, of Bellingham, Washington passed away on March 21, 2024. Originally from a small farm in rural Saskatchewan Canada she was a loving, caring, and selfless individual who touched the lives of many with her happy and friendly demeanor.
Kaye was known for her strength, optimism, and positive outlook on life. Professionally she dedicated 30 years of her life to Nursing Services and Medical Records at St. Joseph Hospital. Outside of her career, she enjoyed time with family and friends, a good cup of coffee and admiring birds and flowers. Kaye’s love, passion and dedication for her family will be cherished forever.
She is survived by her son, Randy Schirmer; her granddaughter, Cailin Schirmer; her sisters, Loretta Gardner, Helen Ingram and Jean Russell; as well as several nieces and nephews in Canada. Kaye was preceded in death by her father and mother John and Mary Zarembo.
A service to celebrate Kaye’s life will be held on June 5th at 1:30pm at 4460 Decatur Drive, Ferndale, WA 98248.
May her memory live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
