WHATCOM COUNTY, Wash. — The Seattle office of the National Weather Service issued a winter weather advisory on Friday, October 17, 2025, due to expected high elevation snow between Saturday at 11pm through Sunday at 11pm.
* WHAT…High elevation snow expected. Total snow accumulations up to 4 to 8 inches.
* WHERE…Cascades of Whatcom and Skagit Counties including Rainy Pass. Heaviest accumulations above 4500 feet.
* WHEN…From 11 PM Saturday to 11 PM PDT Sunday.
* IMPACTS…Plan on slippery road conditions.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…This is expected to be the first notable snowfall in the Cascades this season, especially at higher elevations. People planning on visiting the backcountry should plan accordingly for winter weather conditions.
