The Guide Meridian was reportedly closed south of the Axton Road intersection to both northbound and southbound traffic to allow firefighters to battle a nearby structure fire.
First responders were dispatched to the scene due to a report of a residential fire about 9:45am this morning, March 16th. According to unconfirmed emergency radio transmissions, an outdoor burn spread to a nearby residence on the east side in the 5600 block of the Guide Meridian.
As of 10:15am, 1 lane each was reported open through the area for northbound and southbound traffic. Drivers are advised to avoid the area for the time being.
As of 11am, plans were being made to close all lanes of the Guide so firefighters could access a fire hydrant on the west side of the road. Northbound traffic will be detoured at Smith Road and southbound will be detoured at Axton Road. This closure was expect to continue for more than 1 hour.
