FERNDALE, Wash. — An motorhome owner ended up spending a lot more time in Ferndale than he initially planned.

Ferndale Police were dispatched to the 5400 block of Barrett Road this afternoon due to a report of an SUV that had lost part of its axle in the road. What they discovered upon arriving was a full size Fleetwood Discovery class A motorhome stuck half into the road with its right rear tire in a ditch next to a driveway it pulling out of.

The owner spoke with My Ferndale News and said he had been really enjoying the motor home but was always worried about cutting a turn to sharp and ending up in just such a situation. “I’ve had nightmares about doing something like this,” he said.

Police were directing traffic on Barrett Road through the 1 open lane while they awaited a tow truck to come and free the motorhome. As of 2pm, the road remained partially blocked.
