Motorcycle crash impacts north and southbound I-5 traffic as evening commute begins

BELLINGHAM, Wash. — First responders were dispatched about 4:50pm on Tuesday, March 7th, due to a report of a motorcycle versus semi-truck crash in the southbound lanes of I-5 between Meridian Street and Sunset Drive interchanges.

Northbound lanes are also being impacted according to traffic cameras. Evening commuters would be well-advised to avoid the area and use alternate routes.

According to the EMS dispatch log service, PulsePoint, at least 1 person was transported from the scene by a medic unit to PeaceHealth St Joseph Medical Center.

The blocked southbound lane was reopened by 5:40pm.

Unconfirmed reports by first responder radio said a southbound motorcycle had collided with the rear of a southbound semi-truck trailer.
