WHATCOM COUNTY, Wash. — An earthquake registering magnitude 4.5 was reported by seismologists about 7:20pm this evening, October 8th.

The earthquake was centered about 24 miles west-northwest from Everett. Reports indicate it occurred at a depth of about 34 miles.
No ttsunami is expected.
Earthquakes in the magnitude range of 2 to 4 are considered “minor.” Minor earthquakes are likely only detectable by people in the nearby vicinity.
There have been no reports of injuries or damage from the earthquake.
