Lummi Island ferry vehicle volumes grew in 2025 but dipped during 4Q25

LUMMI ISLAND, Wash. — According to quarterly ferry rider data released by Whatcom County, total annual volumes over the last 5 years is mixed with a notable decline in late-year activity following a rate increase.

The most recent quarter (Q425) saw a significant drop in ridership compared to the same period in 2024.

While vehicle traffic rebounded slightly (+1.5%), passenger numbers continued a slow decline (-0.7%) for the third consecutive year.
