A power line that appeared to have been snagged and partially pulled down by a passing vehicle is responsible for tall vehicles being detoured around the 6200 block of Northwest Drive, near Boxx Berry Farms.

First responders, including Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched about 2:15pm today, July 23rd, to the area due to reports of a cut and sparking wire.

Crews from Puget Sound Energy have been requested to repair the wire. Firefighters with Whatcom County Fire District 7 assessed the situation and found no live electrical hazards.

No outages were reported in the area.

As of 2:45pm, tall vehicles were being detoured via Piper Road and Paradise Road to prevent them from becoming entangled with the low power line.
