First responders were dispatched to northbound I-5 south of the W Smith Road overpass due to a single-vehicle rollover crash about 6:30pm Sunday, April 21st.
According to Whatcom County Fire District 7 Division Chief Ben Boyko the driver was the only occupant and able to get out of the wreckage on his own. He was treated minor injuries and released at the scene.
Traffic was reduced to one lane while efforts to recover the gold-colored Toyota Prius were underway.
Washington State Patrol spokesperson Trooper Heather Axtman said as of 9pm no reason could be given for the crash.
