The announcement refers to an investigation that preceded the search warrant being served.

During the investigation it was confirmed that store attendants sold a product appearing to be Spice and provided receipts to customers indicating they had purchased “cigarettes.”

Last December, Discover Ferndale reported on the Ferndale High School’s outreach effort to alert parents of the use of “spice” among the student population. Local convenience stores were contacted and the Gull Station owner admitted to having a “spice” product for sale and he had been selling it for years. He acknowledged having one packet in inventory at the time. He also said he would not be reordering any more.
