FERNDALE, Wash. — Crews with Whatcom County Fire District 7 are on scene in the Grandview Business park in the 7000 block of Portal Way (north of Grandview Road) after being dispatched at 3:45pm today, September 5th, for a reported structure fire.
Smoke could be seen coming from the “Q” building in the business park. As of 4pm, firefighters had entered the building and were in offensive mode.
WCFD7 Division Chief Ben Boyko said the unit where the fire was located did not appear to have been occupied at the time the fire was reported. They located the fire inside the building and knocked it down.
No injuries were reported.
A WCFD7 ladder truck was on scene which enabled 2 firefighters to monitor the roof of the building while firefighters were inside.
Whatcom County Fire Marshal was at the scene investigating as of 4:30pm
