Firefighters knock down train fire in Acme

ACME, Wash. — Firefighters from Whatcom County Fire Districts 16 and 1 were dispatched about 11:45pm yesterday, April 22nd, due to a report of a train fire at the intersection of Galbraith Road and Valley Highway.

WCFD1 Division Chief Darren Branum said firefighters arrived to find a shipping container on a rail car on fire. There were no injuries and no structures were in danger. Damage was limited to the container which Branum said contained garbage.
