Fire District 7 activity – May 2017

Whatcom County Fire District 7 (WCFD7) aid and fire crews responded to a total of 373 calls during the month of May according to Assistant Fire Chief Larry Hoffman. Calls included 3 building fires, 308 medical emergencies, 7 hazardous condition calls, 16 calls canceled en route and 8 false alarms.

WCFD7 averaged 12.03 calls per day.

1 car Rollover accident
1 patient was transported BLS (basic life support) by WCFD7 personnel to PeaceHealth St. Joseph Medical Center

May 12 – 12:56pm
5600 Block of Applewood Drive
Responded to reported a garage fire. 6 units responded to the alarm. Fire had been extinguished prior to our arrival. Crews preformed overhaul and salvage operations. A broken natural gas line was the cause of the fire after a vehicle struck a water heater located in the garage. The damage estimate was $25,000

1 car Rollover accident
2 patients were evaluated at the scene and released.

May 19 – 8:28am
1700 Block Main Street
2 car blocking motor vehicle collision
2 patients were evaluated at the scene and released

May 23 – 4pm
2000 block of Washington Street
1 car non-blocking motor vehicle collision. Car vs. sign
2 patients were evaluated at the scene and released

May 25 – 12:22pm
1200 Block W. Axton Road
2 car blocking motor vehicle collision. Car vs Pickup
2 patients evaluated at scene with 1 transported BLS to PeaceHealth St. Joseph Medical Center

May 30 – 3:23pm
5500 Block Hovander Road
1 vehicle rollover motor vehicle collision. Pickup in the ditch
2 patients evaluated at the scene and released
