As if on cue, the clouds lifted and the rain stopped this morning just so the Grand Parade could weave through downtown Ferndale under dry skies and mild temperatures.
The route from the high school all the way to Pioneer Park was lined elbow-to-elbow, lawn chair-to-lawn chair with eager parade watchers of all ages.
The parade lasted over 40 minutes with Ferndale service organizations, businesses, youth groups and politicians entertaining the crowds while afoot, on floats, in fancy cars, in horse-drawn wagons and on horseback.
