FERNDALE, Wash. — A Ferndale Police officer was arrested at his Blaine residence yesterday, July 26th, about 9pm according to information received from Ferndale Police Department Spokesperson Riley Sweeney.
Sweeney told Whatcom News via email, “Ferndale Police Officer Scott Langton was taken into custody at his Blaine residence. He has been charged with Criminal Attempt (Solicitation of a Minor). Bellingham Police Department is conducting the criminal investigation.” He later added this is a single felony charge.
Sweeney added this remains an open Bellingham Police Department investigation and no further information would be immediately available.
Skagit County Jail records indicate Michael Scott Langton, age 46, was booked into the facility by Bellingham Police about 11:20pm yesterday.
The Bellingham Police Department did not immediately respond to a request for information.
