Ferndale Police officer arrested, charged with criminal attempt

FERNDALE, Wash. — A Ferndale Police officer was arrested at his Blaine residence yesterday, July 26th, about 9pm according to information received from Ferndale Police Department Spokesperson Riley Sweeney.

Sweeney told Whatcom News via email, “Ferndale Police Officer Scott Langton was taken into custody at his Blaine residence. He has been charged with Criminal Attempt (Solicitation of a Minor). Bellingham Police Department is conducting the criminal investigation.” He later added this is a single felony charge.

Sweeney added this remains an open Bellingham Police Department investigation and no further information would be immediately available.

Skagit County Jail records indicate Michael Scott Langton, age 46, was booked into the facility by Bellingham Police about 11:20pm yesterday.

The Bellingham Police Department did not immediately respond to a request for information.

    They never wanted to believe us growing up in ferndale. All we wanted was to be heard and no victimized even more for standing up for ourselves.. many of us lost alot in our lives especially family for this action.. but most of us pulled thru and are back on top.. justice will be served I hope 4 all of our sakes.. we were all only trying to make it.. well I’m done.. I drop the mic 🎤 for everyone who met him and lost something. One love to all of now. Who can set are minds free. Justice4all..

    Make them accountable!!!
    We have new badges in Whatcom county who are going to listen and keep our families safe.
    We have no tolerance for back door cops!!!
