A Ferndale man died after what investigators say was a hit and run on Grandview Road at Atwood Road, east of the northbound I-5 on- and off-ramps, early this morning, Thursday, December 20th, according to the Washington State Patrol.
What-Comm 911 dispatchers got a call shortly after 3am this morning of a male facedown in the roadway. Ferndale Police and Whatcom County Fire District 7 aid crews were dispatched. According to radio transmissions, first responders began CPR on the victim until aid arrived. The victim was declared dead at the scene.
The victim was later identified as Daniel W Holcomb, age 51, of Ferndale and next of kin were notified.
The Washington State Patrol is investigating.
