Washington State Patrol is investigating a fatal 3-vehicle crash that occurred about 10:30am this morning on State Route 542 (aka Mt Baker highway).
According to the WSP, Larry Fitzgerald, 71, was driving a 1994 Chevrolet Suburban eastbound when it crossed into the westbound lanes colliding first with a 2012 Toyota Yaris and then with a 1998 Subaru Legacy. The Toyota Yaris was driven by Pamela (Quintanilla) Moyer, 24, and the Subaru was driven by her husband, Phillip Moyer, 25, and their infant daughter, 5 months, was riding in the Subaru.
Phillip and the infant died at the scene. Fitzgerald and Pamela were injured and transported to PeaceHealth St Joseph Medical Center.
Pamela is a 2010 graduate from Ferndale High School.
According to a report from the WSP, it is unknown whether drugs or alcohol were involved. The cause and possible charges remain under investigation. All vehicles were reported as total losses.
