FERNDALE, Wash. — First responders were dispatched about 12pm Thursday, July 7th, to a construction business in the 6200 block of Portal Way due to a report of a 58-year-old victim with multiple gunshot wounds.

Initial radio reports were that the victim was declared dead at the scene and the shooter had fled the area in a vehicle. Law enforcement had a description of a suspect and their vehicle.
About 4pm, Ferndale Police Department Spokesperson Riley Sweeney issued a press release that identified Todd Daniel Andersen, age 49, as the suspect. Police have established probable cause to arrest Anderson for 1st degree murder.
Andersen was said to remain at large at the time of the press release and is believed to be driving a rented 2020 Silver Challenger with Oregon plates, 553MJM.
Andersen is considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information regarding his whereabouts are encouraged to call 911.
