FERNDALE, Wash. — Ferndale Police were dispatched about 4:35pm on Tuesday, January 24th, to an in-store bank branch in the 1800 block of Main Street due to a report of a bank robbery.
According to a press release from the Ferndale Police Department, the suspect demanded money and fled the building on foot after obtaining an undetermined amount of cash. The suspect did not display or imply that he was armed with a weapon.

The suspect is described as a white male who is about 5-foot 9-inches tall with a regular build. At the time of the robbery, he was wearing a black hoodie with the hood pulled up, a black face covering, blue latex type gloves, faded baggie blue jeans and white shoes.
Ferndale Police officers and Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office deputies and Bellingham Police Department officers responded and searched the area. The suspect was not located.
The press release said there is no cause to believe that there is a threat to public safety at this time.
The Ferndale Police Department is asking the public for assistance in this case. People who were near the store entrance, checkout area or the parking lot of the Haggen grocery store during this time and saw the suspect entering or exiting the business, or anyone with any additional information regarding this case are asked to contact Detective Grant via phone at 360-483-5739 or via email to egrant@ferndalepd.org.
