WHATCOM COUNTY, Wash. — An unnamed tributary to Fourmile Creek fish passage improvement project has closed E Pole Road (SR544) since August 21st. Today, Monday, September 18th, officials with the Washington State Department of Transportation announced the road has reopened.
A signed 19-mile detour route had been set up around the work zone via Everson Goshen Road, Nooksack Road (SR9), Badger Road (SR546) and the Guide Meridian (SR539).
Periodic traffic impacts are expected to continue while workers finish replacing the culvert.
