DUI emphasis patrols are underway in Whatcom County

WHATCOM COUNTY, Wash. — Driving under the influence (DUI) emphasis patrols by Whatcom County law enforcement agencies began on December 13th.

To increase safety and keep impaired drivers off the roads, law enforcement agencies across the state will be conducting extra DUI patrols from December 13th through New Year’s Day.

According to Target Zero Manager Carr Lanham, local agencies participating include the following.

  • Everson Police Department
  • Bellingham Police Department
  • Lynden Police Department
  • Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office
  • WWU Police Department

The results so far are as shown on the following chart compiled using Whatcom County Jail records showing the daily count of persons booked and charged with suspicion of DUI (alcohol, drugs).
