BELLINGHAM, Wash. — Abby Danielle Adams-Wright, age 47, was arrested in Deming and charged with 2 counts of making threats to bomb or injure property.
According to an affidavit of probable cause filed in Whatcom County Superior Court and Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO) Law Incident Media Summary Report, Adams-Wright called What-COMM 911 dispatchers about 10:50pm on March 14, 2026. She demanded the Whatcom County Jail and the Jail Work Center be vacated by 6am the next day. She threatened to shoot people at the facilities if inmates were not released.
Adams-Wright stated her boyfriend was serving time at the Jail Work Center. During a subsequent phone call with a WCSO deputy, she stated law enforcement lacked authority to hold inmates because the jail is on “stolen land.” When the deputy asked if she had access to firearms, she refused to answer. When asked if she planned to shoot people, she replied, “I’ll do what I have to do, to get my people out.”
The affidavit said there was a prior incident on March 9, 2026, where Adams-Wright blocked the law enforcement entrance to the jail with a vehicle wile yelling, “Get my boys out.”
Adams-Wright was arrested by WCSO on March 15, 2026, shortly after 1am and booked into the Whatcom County Jail. During a preliminary appearance on March 16, 2026, bail was set at $5,000 or a $500 cash alternative.
Adams-Wright was released from custody after posting bail on March 17, 2026. Her next hearing is scheduled for April 8, 2026.
